Museum Collections & Exhibitions
At the core of a curators job lies responsibility for his/her permanent collection and for organizing temporary exhibitions; thus the Museum Collections and Exhibitions Committee goes right to the heart of a curator's role. As content providers, curators should and will play a major role in determining how museum collections, and by extension museums themselves, will function within the larger framework of 21st-century culture. The committee will address a number of key issues common to all museums including the proper care and presentation of our permanent collections, a more accessible approach to the loan of art works between institutions, the evolving investigation of higher standards for educating the museum visitor, and maintaining the highest standards of scholarship in exhibitions and their publications.
