The Association of Art Museum Curators

Prize
The Prize Committee was formed to draw attention to the primary responsibilities of art museum curators, collection installation, publications and exhibitions. There are three prize categories including awards for Outstanding Book or Extended Catalogue based on a museum's permanent collection, Outstanding Article or Extended Essay, and Outstanding Exhibition (of which one award is given in each of three pre-determined time zones covering museums in the United States and Canada). The Prize Committee consists of AAMC members and Trustees who work to outline and define the criteria for the prize juries who award both the Book and Article each year. The Exhibition prizes are voted on by the entire membership of the AAMC each year. All awards are distributed at the AAMC annual meeting in May.
