May 6 - 9, 2017

New York City

The Association of Art Museum Curators (AAMC) & AAMC Foundation 2017 Annual Conference & Meeting, scheduled for May 6-9, 2017, New York City, is a robust and varied program. Building on our 15th Anniversary Conference & Meeting in Houston last May, we will expand upon our forward momentum by addressing topics of inclusion and access in all aspects of the Conference’s programming.

For this Conference we are changing all our content based programming, including our panel sessions, to a model of an exchange of ideas, we are fostering open session dialogues throughout all our content creating a community colloquium over a lecture format.
It is with great honor that we share the two Keynote Dialogues to be held during the Conference: Keynote Dialogue with Monica O. Montgomery, Founding Director & Curator, Museum of Impact, and Tanya M. Odom, Global Diversity & Inclusion & Education Consultant & Executive Coach on Monday, May 8;  and Keynote Dialogue with Hank Willis Thomas, Artist, and Deborah Willis, University Professor & Chair of the Department of Photography & Imaging, Tisch School of the Arts, New York University on Tuesday, May 9.

AAMC & AAMC Foundation is pleased to welcome its attendees to our Conference venues, which represent a varied group of arts organizations in New York City. Our extensive roster of organizations welcoming us includes: Brooklyn Museum; Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum; International Center of Photography at the ICP Museum; The Laundromat Project’s Kelly Street Collaborative; The Metropolitan Museum of Art; Morris-Jumel Mansion; Museum of Chinese in America; Museum of the City of New York; Mount Vernon Hotel Museum & Garden; the New-York Historical Society Museum & Library; The Isamu Noguchi Foundation and Garden Museum; Socrates Sculpture Park & Mark di Suvero Studio; The Studio Museum in Harlem’s inHarlem; and the Whitney Museum of American Art.

Early bird registration is available through Friday, March 10, 12 PM ET, at which point general registration will open. Registration closes on Monday, April 3, 12 PM ET. Registrations received after the deadline cannot be accommodated.

The Conference Program concludes on Tuesday, May 9th at 6:00 PM. Please plan your travel arrangements accordingly so as not to miss important and valued content that runs through the entirety of the Conference.

About the Conference & Meeting
