NOMINATIONS FOR THE AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE ARE OPEN
The Awards celebrate curatorial excellency and are the only of their kind by which curators honor their own. AAMC members are encouraged to nominate other colleagues' exhibitions and publications or to self-nominate, and can nominate more than once in any category.
Nominations close, with all material required to be submitted, on January 19, 2016 at 12pm eastern time. No late material or nominations are accepted.
Once the electronic nomination form(s) has been submitted, AAMC notifies the nominator about the additional steps required (i.e.: sending out copies of the publication, any additional material required if the application was incomplete). If the nomination is not a self nomination, the nominated party is not notified by AAMC and your nomination will remain anonymous to the nominee, unless otherwise specified.
Jurors review the nominations in the Article/Essay/Extended Catalogue and Catalogue/Publication categories, and the Prize Committee members review the Exhibitions/Installations.
Awardees are notified in late February/early March. Those not selected for an Award are not notified, keeping the nomination process anonymous.
AWARD PRESENTATIONS *NEW*
At our first Awards for Excellence Reception, AAMC will present and celebrate the Awards. The reception, held during the Conference, is on Sunday, May 8, 2016, at The Menil Collection in Houston, and we hope all Awardees will be able to join us at the event. Ability to attend the event does not influence the award selection process.
