Join AAMC & AAMC Foundation at this year's College Art Association Conference in New York, at AAMC's affiliated session Curators: Agents of Change from 'Inside and Outside' the Box (of the Museum).
The discussion will feature Wassan Al-Khudhairi, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, Birmingham Museum of Art; Beatrice Galilee, Daniel Brodsky Associate Curator of Architecture and Design, Modern and Contemporary Department, The Metropolitan Museum of Art; Nii O. Quarcoopome, Co-Chief Curator & Department Head, Africa, Oceania, and Indigenous Americas, Detroit Institute of Arts; and will be moderated by Marianne Lamonaca, Chief Curator / Associate Director, The Bard Graduate Center Gallery. Discussants will address recent changes in the curatorial landscape, and will ask how can we prepare curators to be agents of change in the wider museum field.
"It is always exciting to engage with CAA members who represent a wide range of fields and career development stages. My goal with this year's panel is to open a dialogue about how the path to a museum curatorial career has been broadening and how new voices are shaping museum collections and programming," says Moderator Marianne Lamonaca of the upcoming discussion. The session will be held on Wednesday February 15th from 1:30pm - 3:00pm at the New York Hilton, Midtown East Ballroom, 3rd Floor, 1335 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10010. Please register directly through CAA to attend this discussion.
