The Association of Art Museum Curators offers membership at the Individual and Institutional levels. Our members benefit from access to our Annual Conference; travel, research, and development grants; a formal yearlong Mentorship Program; professional development webinars; bi-annual Compensation Review; the Awards for Excellence; e-newsletters; career listings; the AAMC membership directory and more.
Individual membership is open to art curators, regardless of geographic location, with direct responsibility for works of art at non-profit organization. In addition, independent curators, and others without non-profit art organization affiliation, who seek to engage with members on issues relevant to professional practices are welcome to apply for membership, and are asked to submit additional material for review by the membership committee.
AAMC institutional members contribute to the organization by providing the central funding we need to continue our programming each year. We are confident that the growth of the AAMC will continue to reflect the support and desire of museum directors across the country to see the curatorial profession flourish and serve both our institutions and the larger museum community. Our sliding scale dues structure is based on an institution’s budget.
