Call for Proposals: AAMC’s First Annual "Curatorial Slam”
For the first time, the AAMC will explore an experimental session geared towards presenting projects, ideas and curatorial risk-taking at its very best.
The Curatorial Slam, based on a "Pecha Kucha" format, will seek to highlight upwards of nine short presentations (under seven minutes each) that are meant to provide curators a space to test out ideas and projects in progress.
For example, curators who wish to share their thoughts about a prospective exhibition, acquisition, conservation project, or innovative program should view the Curatorial Slam as an opportunity to present and receive feedback on a project while in its formative stages.
The ultimate goal of this session will be to showcase the dynamic work of the membership at a pivotal moment in the curatorial process.
Members are encouraged to submit their "Pecha Kucha” ideas by clicking here.
Deadline for submissions is March 9, 2012.
