Welcome Student Forum Members!
Dear
Student Forum Members,
I am
pleased to report that the AAMC Student Forum will be off and running tomorrow. We hope that the forum will become a place for all students
undergraduate through PhD to communicate about the curatorial profession.
To that end, we have established two discussion forums: one for graduate
and PhD students, and one for undergraduate students.
Over
the next few months we plan to initiate online conversations through a series
of posts, written by curatorial moderators, AAMC staff, and you - our forum
subscribers. The forum should be a place for open discussion and inquiry,
and moderators will be available to answer questions about the curatorial
profession or provide insight about issues raised by subscribers. It
should be noted that moderators may choose to cull their responses to members
into one post on a weekly or even bi-weekly basis, so please be patient when
awaiting a reply. Our first online moderators will be Alexandra
Schwartz, Curator of Contemporary Art at the Montclair Art Museum in New
Jersey and William Breazeale, Curator at the Crocker Art Museum in
California.
In
the meantime, please review the attached FAQ document for additional
information about the forum and to learn how to subscribe to instant email
notifications or weekly digests.
Should
you
have any difficulty accessing the forum, please contact Madeleine
Haddon, programs assistant at madeleine.haddon@artcurators.org.
All
best,
Sally Block
