Digital Learning

Since 2016, AAMC Foundation has been an advocate and leader in digital education and integration within the curatorial field, including through webinars and in-person programs and events, and fellowships such as our earlier Networked Curator initiative, and most recently our Curatorial Digital Leadership program.

The 2023 Curatorial Digital Leadership (CDL) program supported curators, working as pairs, from nonprofit art organizations located in the cities directly supported by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. Selected teams of curators will embarked on a ten-month cohort engaged series of online learnings and peer-to-peer support to advance digital literacies, storytelling, and audience engagement. The program also included an in-person component of multiple day network building and deeper learning activities in Philadelphia.  Together Culture24 and AAMC Foundation shared data, resources, and experiences to further connect the program to the wider museum sector audience and advance the impact of the pilot CDL program.  This program is generously funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

We look forward to continuing this fellowship opportunity in the future.

Previous AAMC Foundation Digital Leadership Training Programs

AAMC Foundation’s Networked Curator was a professional development initiative for nonprofit art curators that advances overall digital skills and vocabulary, enable them to better understand the resources and possibilities of the sector, and empower them to collaborate and actively participate in related initiatives. This program was made possible through the generosity of the Getty Foundation and the Samuel H. Kress Foundation.
