AAMC & AAMC FOUNDATION APPOINTS VICE PRESIDENT AND NEW TRUSTEES-AT-LARGE TO ITS BOARD

NOVEMBER 15, 2024, NEW YORK, NY – The Governance and Nominating Committee of AAMC & AAMC Foundation announced today new appointments to its Board of Trustees. Emily Lenz, Director and Partner, D. Wigmore Fine Art, who has served as a member of AAMC’s Board since January 2024, will join the Executive Committee and take on the role of Vice President, Fundraising. Joining her as new Trustees-At-Large are Mary-Dailey Desmarais, Chief Curator, Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal, and Betty Krulik, President, Betty Krulik Fine Art, Ltd. All new board members and appointments will begin their service on January 1, 2025.

I am honored to have Emily join us on the Executive Committee, and to have Mary-Daily and Betty bring new insight and expertise to their new roles and to our organization,” stated Michelle Jacques, President, Board of Trustees.

Betty Krulik brings over 40 years of experience handling American and European 19th and 20th-century art, working with major collectors and museums nationwide. Since 2004, she has been a private dealer, art advisor, and appraiser, and is a Certified Member of the Appraisers Association of America, where she served on its board (2011 – 2023) and as president (2013 – 2015). She also serves on the boards of various museums and associations and is known for her work on the Catalogue Raisonné for artists such as Willard Leroy Metcalf and William Merritt Chase.

Mary-Dailey Desmarais is the Chief Curator of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, where she has played a key role in diversifying the museum's collection and developing artistic programs that inspire new perspectives on art, history, and contemporary issues. Desmarais is a mentor in the AAMC Propel Program, she has served on numerous prestigious art prize juries, publishing widely, and sitting on the board of Porte Parole, a documentary theater company. Desmarais also leads a women's group supporting United Way Centraide of Greater Montreal, serving the city's underprivileged communities.

Emily Lenz is director and partner at D. Wigmore Fine Art, a New York gallery specializing in American art from 1900 -1980. Established in 1980, the gallery is known for its exhibitions that revitalize historic movements in American art, brought together through extensive research and acquisitions. Lenz regularly collaborates with curators on themed and solo exhibitions for the gallery’s represented artists and has written articles for American Art Review and American Fine Art Magazine. She has been a speaker at Princeton University Art Museum (2019), Initiatives in Art and Culture’s American Art Conference (2021, 2022), and American Abstract Artists (2022). Lenz has served on the Fundraising Committee of AAMC since 2019 and co-chaired the committee since 2022.
