New AAMC Executive Director Announced

Association
of Art Museum Curators (AAMC) hires new Executive Director
New
York, N.Y. January 14, 2014—The Association of Art Museum
Curators (AAMC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Judith Pineiro as
Executive Director. Judith will fill the vacancy left by outgoing Executive Director, Sally
Block, who is stepping down. The
selection was made after a comprehensive search and selection process.
In her role, Judith will be responsible for the overall
administration and management of the AAMC and AAMC Foundation, including
membership, program and annual conference development, marketing,
communications, Board and Committee relations, fundraising and business
operations.

she will be an excellent ambassador for the AAMC and curators everywhere,” says
Emily Ballew Neff, President of the AAMC, and
Director and Chief Curator of the Fred
Jones Jr. Museum of Art at the University of Oklahoma, "She
brings a varied array of important skills to the table, and will be an asset to
the organization in its next chapter of growth and development.”

Judith
has worked in the visual arts community for over 20 years, most recently as an
independent External Affairs consultant for clients such as Art in General, Louise Blouin Media, The Laundromat Project, and
ArtforMe/Cape Town. Prior to her
consultancy work, she served as Director of the Affordable Art Fair U.S.;
Associate Development Director, Institutional Advancement at the Museum of Arts
and Design; and Account Manager, Museum Services Department at Christie’s. She holds a B.A. in Journalism/Mass Media, B.A.
in Art History, M.A. in Art History and a Certificate in Curatorial Studies,
all from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey.
