AAMC & AAMC Foundation

Annual Conference & Meeting
May 5 – 8, 2018

Montreal, Canada

AAMC members are invited to submit session proposals for the AAMC & AAMC Foundation 2018 Annual Conference & Meeting.
Deadline is July 25, 2017.

  • We are seeking proposals focusing on collaboration, cooperation, engagement, and interpretation, which will build upon and continue our discussions of inclusion and access begun at our 2017 Conference.

  • Proposals should address topics pertinent to the range of fields, organizations, career stages, and overall breath of the curatorial profession and arts community.

  • As with all AAMC & AAMC Foundation programming and overall efforts, proposals should strive to be representative of diversity across self-identifications (by nation, gender, creed, race), fields of expertise, types of institutional mission, and regional position, and of participants.

  • In addition, proposals should support a discussion format of presentation that engages the audience in a dialogue.

  • All proposals are due no later than 12pm ET, Thursday, July 25, 2017, no exceptions will be granted.

Proposal Process

The Conference Committee and the Executive Director oversee the first review selection process, with the second round and final decisions made and approved by the Executive Committee, in coordination with our Inclusion and Access Task Force and Advocacy Task Force leadership. The selection process will be guided by the strength of the proposals and the need to create a balance between topics relevant to curators from a wide range of institutions and specializations. Conference proposals are subject to modification by AAMC (staff, leadership, etc) as part of the process of shaping the overall Conference program.
