Registration Open for Webinar on Navigating Global Topics at a Local Scale

New York, October 15, 2019 - Registration opens today for Global Topics for Local Audiences, a public webinar that will explore models and methods for arts organizations to consider when making global issues relevant for local audiences.

Streamed live on Thursday, November 14th, 2019 at 2:00 PM ET, the webinar will feature a dialogue between speakers who each bring regional, national, and/or historic art into current global dialogues within their organizations. They include Linda Butler, Director of Marketing, Communications and Visitor Experience, Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco; Silvia Forni, Senior Curator of African Arts and Cultures, Royal Ontario Museum (ROM); and Lance Wheeler, Curator of Interpretation, Two Mississippi Museums. Co-organized by Melissa Buron, Director, Art Division Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco; Moderator and Rebecca McNamara, Mellon Collections Curator, Tang Teaching Museum, Skidmore College, the conversation aims to highlight best practices and raise practical questions surrounding how arts organizations can make their collections, exhibitions, and programming relevant to widespread, global audiences.

Global Topics for Local Audiences is part of the AAMC Foundation’s webinar series, which offers live online discussions on essential skills, timely issues, and latest discoveries that define the profession of an art curator, and enhance understanding and development in the field.
