CURATORIAL AWARDS NOMINATIONS OPEN

New and continuing categories for peer reviewed honor

NEW YORK, NY, October 20, 2021 – The Association of Art Museum Curators (AAMC), the leading organization for nonprofit art curators, announced a call for nominations in new and continuing categories for the Awards for Excellence, an esteemed honor celebrating curatorial work across all sectors. Highly respected, these are the only peer to peer Awards that recognize achievements of nonprofit curators globally. Nominations are now being accepted for this year’s Awards in the categories of:
  • Digital Publication (published in 2021)
  • Digital Exhibition (launched in 2021)
  • Online Program (held in 2021)
  • Non-Catalog Publication (published in 2021)
    • Print or Online: Essays, Articles, Brochures, Blogs, Magazines, Journals, News Stories
  • Exhibition or Installation (on view in 2020 and/or 2021)
  • Publication published (in 2020 and/or 2021)

The Awards celebrate curatorial endeavors that create connections and foster engagement between nonprofit art organizations and the communities they serve. The subject matter may cover any field and/or topic, however, we specifically seek to award original curatorial content that addresses issues in social justice, activism, diversity, access, equity, and inclusion.

Nominations are accepted through 12PM ET on December 15, 2021, and are being sought from curators around the globe.

For the past seventeen years, the Awards have been dedicated to recognizing distinctive curatorial nonprofit work, in all fields, time periods, and types of organization affiliation, and independent work, and have recognized over 160 curators. The Awards will be announced at the 2022 Art Curators Conference in NYC.
