APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN FOR ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMS FOR INTERNATIONAL CURATORS

AAMC Foundation is presenting two versions of the EPIC program

New York, NY, October 18, 2022--The AAMC Foundation has announced an open application process for its valued and impactful initiative, the Engagement Program for International Curators.  With this program the AAMC Foundation creates and strengthens international relationships between curators by providing a cross-cultural platform. By engaging with their counterparts, EPIC participants lead multi-national conversations and advance their professional skills.

Now in its seventh recurrence, the program has served nearly 50 curators, across more than 40 organizations in 37 cities within 14 countries. Not only is EPIC an exceptional career development opportunity, it also fosters a more expanded understanding of the evolving role of a curator and helps to bring visibility to universal concerns and issues by incorporating international voices and perspectives into the discourse. Through building trust, practicing responsiveness, and offering confidential career support the program offers a multilayered capacity for fellows to deepen their curatorial network, vision, and commitment.

Applications are encouraged and desired from those that are representative of diversity by self-identifiers, including race, ethnicity, and gender. Applicants for U.S., International, and U.K. roles are selected and paired by a group of peer jurors. The program includes full funding to participate, with a free and accessible online application process.

Full information and a link to apply is below.

The 2023 EPIC U.S. Art edition will award two International Awardees and two U.S. Liaisons who are nonprofit curators having worked or currently working within collections, exhibitions and/or projects in development that explore visual arts projects that focus on expanded narratives of arts of the United States, including Native American arts, and engage in inclusive and equitable practices that lead to structural change. This includes projects from historical to contemporary. Projects focused on contemporary art should offer a critical and reflective engagement with histories, arts, and/or art histories associated with American contexts.
